Throughout Urban Memory, the subject of memory never strays far from its obverse, forgetting. The entwining pair preoccupies this collection of nine essays, edited by Mark Crinson, where memory and forgetting (or oblivion, or amnesia) are alternately compared, conflated, distinguished, denied, blurred, interpolated, parsed, and totemized. Contributors include Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson, Graeme Gilloch, Jane Kilby, Claire Pajaczkowska, Mark Crinson, Paul Tyrer, Adrian Forty, Richard Williams, John Phillips and Neil Leach.
